Improving Lives and Making Lifelong Friendships
Access to specialty health care is one of the many things we don’t think about much in our world. However, not every part in the world has this luxury. I had the privilege of going to remote Uganda to work with local surgeons sharing plastic surgical knowledge and helping with complex cases.
Dr. Isaac Mubezi and his team are doing great work at Hope and Healing Center in Uganda. Global health and surgical access has always been close to my heart as I grew up in a small town in India with limited access to specialists.
Medical mission trips have been an important part of my journey, and this was my first one after COVID restrictions were lifted. I performed 14 surgeries in a beautiful rural Ugandan hospital, worked with a team dedicated to improving lives, and made some lifelong friendships. What a beautiful country with the kindest people. They inspired me to keep giving my all. Would you like to see more pics from this trip?
